COMMISSIONING OF THE NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE AUTHORITY BUILDING AT AWUTU BERAKU.

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) together with the Awutu Senya District Assembly, on Friday June 11, 2021 commissioned a new NHIA office to promote easy accessibility to quality healthcare within the district.

This is an initiative by the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) to help in quality healthcare and sustainability. The Awutu Senya District Assembly through their internally generated fund (IGF) built the Awutu Beraku NHIS District Registration Center to enhance good customer care and reliability. The District Director of Health (DDH) Madam Nancy Ekyem lauded the assembly for such an input of being able to put up their own NHIA office. According to her, she believes health should be accessible and reliable and therefore christened the occasion as a good initiative.

The District Coordinating Director (DCD) Mr. Paul Atsu Agbezudor said this is the first building constructed by the district with its internally generated fund. He applauded the District Chief Executive and his management for a good work done. Mr. Agbezudor stated that, the NHIA since its introduction has improved healthcare delivery by making health care affordable to all community members. He said, the district is hopeful that pregnant women, aged, children, and the vulnerable will take advantage to register to reduce mortality rate.

The Member of Parliament for the Awutu Senya West District, Hon. Gizella Tetteh – Agbotui asked the District Chief Executive to complete the building to prevent leakages. According to her, Awutu Beraku is the central business district and this improves the district capital. Mrs. Gizella Tetteh- Agbotui advised that the NHIA, should do outreach by creating a mobile team so other districts can benefit from it. She used the platform to ask the DDH to push for the Bawjiase Polyclinic to improve the facility. She wished workers all the best, and said, they should treat customers very well.

The Chief Executive Officer Representative Mr. Oti Frimpong, thanked the Awutu Senya District Assembly for a good job done. According to him, there are over 45 district offices, and 6 newly built regional offices in the new districts. He said mobile kit is what is being used in the lacking districts, since they have 168 buildings out 275 constituencies. He introduced people present to the mobile renewal service, where you can simply renew by dialing *929#

The District Chief Executive Hon. Stephen Kwame Quaye thanked the district NHIS officers, the contractor Mr. Amo Mensah, as well as the supporting staff for a job well done. And asked them to use the office accordingly for its purpose.
