DECEMBER CLEAN-UP EXERCISE AT PAPAASE NO. 1 & 2- AWUTU SENYA DISTRICT

On Saturday December 6, 2025 the District Chief Executive of Awutu Senya District Assembly, Hon Nyamekye Kalala Eghan together with management and staff of the Awutu Senya District Assembly embarked on another Clean-up exercise in the district with the attention on Papaase No.1 & 2.
The exercise which was the last in the year 2025 and aligns with the National Sanitation Day, sought to prepare the people for the Christmas festive season. The exercise saw both young and old folks coming out in their numbers along with their working tools, with some in their group attire to clean their environs and desilt chocked gutters along the main street. The clean-up exercise began from Papaase No. 1 through to Papaase No. 2.
Addressing the media and the people gathered, the Hon. DCE expressed his profound gratitude to the good people of Papaase No. 1& 2 for gracing the activity and making it a memorable day. He also encouraged the people not to always wait for an occasion before cleaning their environs but to make it a routine activity. “Let us not make this a nine days wonder activity. The district is also procuring enough dustbins to be shared among communities to help foster cleanliness among all. There is going to be taskforce personnels to ensure people comply with sanitations rules in the districts”, he said.
Furthermore, Hon. Eghan stated that as a district they are looking at making the district a tourist hub and the district’s cleanliness is going to play a vital role in this tourist hub project they are envisaging.
He added that all communities in the districts are expected to embark on similar activity every last Saturday of each ensuing month to make the district clean and safe for all, as well as to welcome the festive season.
