HON. GEORGE ANDAH DONATES TO SUPPORT THE FIGHT AGAINST COVID-19
The Deputy Minister of Communication who is also the MP for Awutu Senya West Constituency, Hon. Nenyi George Andah has stated that the health of the members of the constituents is paramount to him hence he will do everything in his power to ensure that the spread of coronavirus in the constituency is reduced.
He said this when he led his team to donate items worth over GH100, 000 to some institutions in the district to fight the spread of the novel coronavirus in the constituency.
Hon. Andah explained that this initiative was necessary to compliment the efforts of the government and the Assembly to support the residents and constituents in securing quality health care and protection at a time when the fight against COVID-19 pandemic has become crucial.
Hon. Andah further commended all the institutions/agencies and individuals that are taking the necessary efforts in putting measures in place to combat the spread of Covid-19 virus in the district.
The DCE, Hon Stephen Kwame Quaye who received the items on behalf of the institutions expressed gratitude to the MP for the donation and called on other institutions to emulate the kind gestures of the MP and do same to support the fight against this Coronavirus.
Hon Quaye further admonished the beneficiaries to take good care of the items and ensure that all the items are used for the intended purpose in other to achieve the required results.
For her part, the District Health Director Mrs. Patricia Antwi reiterated that we should all adhere strictly to the precautionary measures which are regular wash of hands with soap under running water, regular use of hand sanitizer and nose mask, avoidance of social gathering and observing of social distancing to stay safe from the virus.
The items included locally produced hand washing soap, locally produced alcohol based sanitizers, veronica buckets with stands and bowls, hospital beds, fridges, trolleys, wheel chairs, cabinets, benches, gun thermometers, gloves, face masks etc.
Beneficiaries were, Health Centers and the District Health Directorate, the three Police Commands in the district, Drivers Unions and market centers in the district.
